Real Madrid in Contract Talks with Midfield Maestro

Real Madrid may not have many superstar names in their squad at the moment, but each player wears the prestigious all-white kit with pride.

The club’s frequent deep runs in the UEFA Champions League demonstrate the positive environment and winning mentality ingrained in the team.

Therefore, renewing contracts of current players is always a prudent move for the Spanish giants.

According to reports from Spanish publication AS, Real Madrid have called midfielder Dani Ceballos for discussions over a contract extension.

The 26-year-old Spaniard’s current deal expires this summer, and the club want to accelerate negotiations to tie him down for longer.

Earlier this campaign, Ceballos’ future at the club was uncertain. Given the plethora of midfield options and potential signings on the horizon, the homegrown player seemed surplus to requirements.

“There is no bigger club than Madrid. I have four months left on my contract, but I will give everything to show I want to stay here. I have to grit my teeth and prove I have the quality to play here,” Ceballos said in an interview in January.

as reported by Goal.

Ceballos’ improved performances in recent months have turned things around. Thanks to manager Carlo Ancelotti’s faith in the player, there is now a strong possibility of him remaining at the club beyond this season.

However, with Toni Kroos recently signing a new deal and the club also working to extend Luka Modric’s stay, while chasing the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, Ceballos’ role in the team remains uncertain – something he craves.

Ceballos has made 22 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid this term, providing two assists. He also averages 1.1 key passes per game and has created one clear-cut chance.

Ceballos is expected to start for Real Madrid against Celta Vigo later today. The midfield maestro is likely to replace Luka Modric, who played the full 90 minutes in the Champions League quarterfinal first leg at Chelsea.
