Real Madrid’s La Liga Title Defense in Shambles: What Went Wrong?

Real Madrid’s grip on their La Liga crown seems to be slipping away as their title defense takes a turn for the worse. Find out what went wrong and why their title defense is in shambles.

There’s no sugarcoating it, folks. Real Madrid’s hopes of defending their La Liga title this season seem to be fading faster than my paycheck after a shopping spree.

At the kickoff of 2023, Real Madrid and Barcelona were neck and neck, tied on points. But since then, Los Blancos have pulled a complete disappearing act, nabbing a measly 24 points out of a possible 42 according to Mundo Deportivo.

Sure, injuries have reared their ugly heads, sidelining some of Real Madrid’s star defenders and goal-scoring extraordinaire Karim Benzema. But that’s no excuse for this kind of slump. The higher-ups at the club must be shaking in their boots.
