Real Madrid and Manchester United are reportedly going head to head in a bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s star winger Moussa Diaby. According to sources, the 23-year-old Frenchman has emerged as a top target for both European giants.
Diaby has come on leaps and bounds since trading Paris Saint-Germain for Bayer Leverkusen in 2019. While he won Ligue 1 during his time in the French capital, his career has truly taken off in Germany.
The fleet-footed winger has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most potent attackers, notching an impressive 14 goals and 10 assists in 42 games this season.
Unsurprisingly, Diaby’s rapid rise hasn’t escaped the watchful eyes of Europe’s elite. At Real Madrid, manager Carlo Ancelotti sees the French flyer as an understudy to Vinicius Junior, though Diaby would also provide competition for Rodrygo on the right flank.

Los Blancos, who value the winger at €50 million, face stiff competition from historic rivals Manchester United, however.
The Red Devils, led by new boss Erik ten Hag, crave more firepower in the final third. With Jadon Sancho and Antony blowing hot and cold, Diaby has emerged as a top target.
The 23-year-old would inject pace, skill and unpredictability into United’s frontline.
While a number of Premier League sides are also circling, including Arsenal and Diaby’s former club PSG, a tug of war seems likely between Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Both are in dire need of the winger’s talents but only one will land his signature. The race is on.
