Real Madrid are poised for a tactical shake-up following the acquisition of 19-year old sensation Jude Bellingham. According to reports from Spanish newspaper AS, manager Carlo Ancelotti is preparing to implement a 4-3-1-2 formation in order to accommodate the English starlet, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund for a blockbuster fee.
The attacking midfielder is expected to slot into the number 10 role behind a front two, supplying through balls for wingers Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. However, should Los Blancos succeed in prising Kylian Mbappe away from PSG, the French phenom could join Vinicius up top in a mouthwatering partnership.

In midfield, Ancelotti will rely on the experience and nous of veterans Toni Kroos and Luka Modric to guide Bellingham. The legendary duo have been central to Real Madrid’s success over the past decade but will likely see their game time reduced to make way for Bellingham and younger stars like Dani Ceballos and Federico Valverde. Defensive midfield responsibilities will fall to new signings Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.
Little change is expected in defence, though reinforcements are still needed, especially at fullback. The new tactical setup will provide more solidity through the middle but Los Blancos must address their wider defensive issues to compete domestically and in Europe.

All eyes will be on how quickly Bellingham can adapt to the pace and physicality of La Liga. His technical ability, vision and goal threat could form a devastating trident with Vinicius and Mbappe that strikes fear into defences across the continent. Ancelotti’s tweaks may well propel Real Madrid to further glory next season if the young stars align. The future looks bright at the Bernabeu.
