Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Reynolds is pulling out all the stops to lure football legend Gareth Bale out of retirement for a swansong season with Wrexham AFC.
The Deadpool star and Wrexham co-owner has offered to transform his business partner Rob McElhenney’s back into a pro-standard golf course if the Welsh wizard agrees to turn out for the Dragons next season.
Bale, 33, hung up his boots after leading Wales at the 2022 World Cup finals, calling time on a glittering 17-year career that saw him claim a trove of trophies with Real Madrid, including five Champions Leagues.

The former Spurs superstar went out on a high, scoring a last-gasp extra-time winner to hand MLS side LAFC the league title in his final game.
With Wrexham sealing a historic promotion to the Football League, Reynolds and McElhenney have stars in their eyes and are pulling out all the stops to recruit Bale.
McElhenney has already invited the golf-mad Bale for a round, cheekily admitting,
“Hey @GarethBale11 let’s play golf, where I totally won’t spend 4 hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴 ❤️.”

Reynolds’ Bold Move to Lure Gareth Bale Out of Retirement
Never one to miss a trick, Reynolds upped the ante by vowing to turn McElhenney’s back into a putting green if Bale agrees to swap the golf course for the Racecourse Ground.
The Hollywood pair have already worked wonders reviving the sleeping Welsh giant, but recruiting Bale would be the cherry on top of the cake.
While admitting transforming his co-owner’s follicly-challenged back might be a stretch too far, Reynolds’ proposal shows the lengths they’ll go to land their man.
For Bale, the chance to lead Wrexham into a new dawn in the Football League might just prove an offer too good to refuse, if only for one last dance in the spotlight. Stranger things have happened!
