Real Madrid’s season has effectively come to a close with little left to play for. Having already secured the Copa del Rey and witnessed bitter rivals Barcelona lift the La Liga title, Los Blancos were dumped out of the Champions League after a humiliating 4-0 defeat by Manchester City.
With four league games remaining, Real Madrid seem to have turned their attention to the upcoming transfer window in a bid to appease disgruntled fans disappointed with this season’s efforts and the club’s recent lack of activity.
According to reports, Real Madrid are closing in on a blockbuster deal to sign teenage sensation Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
The signing of Bellingham would be a major coup and help lift spirits at the Santiago Bernabeu, though it may come at the cost of Brahim Diaz.
According to Calciomercato, Real Madrid are considering using Diaz, currently on loan at AC Milan, as a makeweight to lower the fee for Bellingham.
Diaz has impressed Milan this season, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs. However, opportunities at Real Madrid would likely remain limited, possibly making a switch to Dortmund in exchange for Bellingham an attractive proposition for all parties.
Real Madrid Considers Sacrificing Diaz for Bellingham’s Arrival
While a return to Real Madrid cannot be ruled out, Diaz may struggle to break into the first team. Using the Spanish forward as a bargaining chip to sign Bellingham could therefore benefit both clubs.
All signs point to Bellingham becoming a Real Madrid player, but Diaz’s future remains unclear. Will he head to Signal Iduna Park or carve a career elsewhere? Only time will tell.
